用家意見	Sanyo PLC-XP18E is a LCD projector with 2000 Lumen, 700:1 contract ratio, 1027x768, motor zoom and focus. It is sharp and bright. I have compared it with its brother PLC-XP21E which got MLA (micro lens array) to boost brightness to 2500 lumen and claim to have less pixel effect. My comparison discover that the different is only noticible on the brightness. The 500 more lumen cost HK$10,000 more! In his price range, I have compared it with a Plus U2-1300 DLP projector side by side. Plus has 1600 Lumen, 800:1 contract ratio, cast about HK$30,000. It does not have built-in line doubler. manual zoom and focus. It is much lighter and smaller, therefore an ideal protable projector. XP18 is much brighter than the plus even I reduced the brightness to zero. They got similar pixel effect, hard to notice with a size of 60". The syn of XP18 is much better than plus U2 1300 when display computer signals. The picture is sharp and bright like today's 17" LCD display, take for example teh new TopCon 17" LCD monitor. It got a auto picture buttom whenever you press this bottom, it will alreays optimize a sharp picture. However, the plus needs selecting a pull down menu item to adjust and the sharpness which is always less than ideal. The effect is like a first generation cheap LCD display monitor. The contract of the two machine is similar. However, XP18 has a much richer in color which is very suitable for video display as HT. Plus look water color painting that do not look great in color when display side by side with XP18. When display video signal, XP18 is much much better than plus becouse it got a built-in line double and it also got progress input, two computer input, computer monitor output, SVideo input. Plus has only video, SVideo and a computer input. I also compared XP18 with Sony VW10 which has a more noticable pixel effect and a bit out of focus when display video signal. Both Sanyo PLC-XP21 and 18 are good projectors for HT. When comparing the price, I would like to choose XP18 as my HT projector.
