I used this gear for several years. Of course, it was the top AV amp when I bought it. The Yamaha sound field is magic. The only weakness is (1) it can only process 24bit/48KHz and not 96KHz and (2) it doesn't have two more channels for DTS-ES and Dobly Surround EX (only new ones have)and (3) its sound from a pure audio point is not good enough. In fact, the three weaknesses do not affect your enjoyment of films. I know the price is quite low now and certainly it's the best buy now.

I plan to upgrade but I love the sound field and effect of Yamaha AX1, the purity of sound of Denon flagship and the advanced circuitry of Onkyo (Integra Research). The combination of these three will be perfect. Ha ha.
